About The Position

Centerpoint Medical Group Call Center Agents serve as the first point of contact for patients; providing information, scheduling appointments, and addressing inquires. They play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and patient-centered communication within the healthcare system.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant post-secondary education is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using call center software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic healthcare processes.
  • Empathy, patience, and a customer-centric approach to patient care.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance and regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

Responsibilities

  • Answering incoming calls from patients or other healthcare facilities while following the best practices of AIDET customer service, provide information, assistance, and support.
  • Schedule patient appointments and coordinate with healthcare providers and clinical staff.
  • Route incoming calls to appropriate clinic departments/extension.
  • Verify patient demographic and insurance information.
  • Document patient interactions, inquires, and appointment details accurately.
  • Follow established call center protocols, including HIPAA compliance, to protect patient confidentiality.
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures set forth in the Revenue Cycle Guidelines: Best Practices as defined in Business Practices Section 1.2 Etiquette and Telephone communications: and Revenue Cycle: Scheduling and Patient Pre-Visit Financial Clearance Section 2.1.
  • Handle patient complaints and concerns professionally and empathetically.
  • Provide basic medical information and directions to patients as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to resolve patient issues.
  • Other related duties within the designated scope of practice.
