About The Position

As our Scheduler, you will orchestrate a seamless and efficient care process for patients and providers by coordinating appointments and managing schedules. Every day you will schedule patient appointments and coordinate multiple provider schedules for medical procedures, tests, and studies. You'll ensure timely scheduling through effective communication, accurately gather and verify patient insurance and documentation, process reports, and provide exceptional customer service to patients via phone and in-clinic assistance. Receive incoming telephone calls; from physician offices, patients, or patient walk‐ins and schedule the requested outpatient test(s). Collect the appropriate level of demographic, clinical and financial information; including patient’s name, date of birth, ordering physician, ordered test(s), diagnosis, telephone number(s) and payment mode(s). Take into consideration the proper protocols for conducting each ordered test(s). Assess the proper amount of time that is required for the ordered test(s) and place the test(s) on the various department schedules. Inform the physician office or patient of their testing schedule, including time and location of each test, and any special instructions for preparation for the testing schedule. Receive physician orders for future scheduled events, verify accuracy of order and document receipt of order.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Two (2) years of related patient access service
