About The Position

It's more than a career, it's a calling. WI-SSM Health Outpatient Center-Madison Worker Type: Regular Job Highlights: R183738 Surgery and Care Center Hours are variable each day of the week. Monday-Friday. Hours would be 5:30 am – 2pm, 6:00 am-2:30 pm, 7:00-3:30 pm, 9 am -5:30 pm and 10am-6:30 pm. This position would involve registration of patients at the Surgery and Care Center and scheduling of surgical patients for St. Mary’s Hospital MOR and Surgery and Care. A newly hired staff member would work the two early and late shifts when starting. Typically, only one late shift a week once fully trained. Training into scheduling usually starts 4-6 months after hire Job Summary: Responsible for collecting data directly from patients and referring provider offices to confirm and create scheduled appointments for patient services.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
• One year experience

Responsibilities

• Coordinates scheduling and referrals to other healthcare providers and services.
• Obtains approval for schedule changes or cancellations as appropriate.
• Assists with maintenance and updating of provider contact information.
• Ensures that all medical appointments, special instructions and patient information is entered into electronic medical system.
• Follows site-specific protocols and maintains up-to-date documentation to ensure compliance.
• Identifies process improvement opportunities and participates in improvement plans.
• Works on special projects as needed.
• May review the work of others.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
