About The Position

The position involves planning and maintaining a sufficient backlog of planned routine and shutdown work for assigned areas. Responsibilities include managing work requests and work order backlogs, ensuring plans meet the timing requirements of the plant, and reviewing work requests for completeness and accuracy. The role requires building job packages that include identified hazards, safety information, special instructions, required documentation, and estimated job costs for operations approval. Continuous improvement of job plans through feedback and audits is essential, as well as participating in reliability-driven improvement projects.

Requirements

  • Experience in maintenance planning and scheduling.

  • Ability to create and manage job plans and packages.
  • Knowledge of safety requirements and hazard identification.

  • Proficiency in scheduling tools and techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and maintain a sufficient backlog of planned routine and shutdown work.
  • Manage work request and work order backlog by reviewing for duplicates.
  • Group work orders that can be planned and worked as a single order to optimize resource utilization.
  • Ensure plans meet the timing requirements of the plant.
  • Check for understanding of scope through work request text, field walk-throughs, and interaction with the work order approver.
  • Review work requests for completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensure work order type and maintenance craft assignments are accurately assigned.
  • Create job plans for repetitive jobs.
  • Build job packages that include hazards, safety information, special instructions, and required documentation.
  • Solicit feedback on executed job plans and make necessary changes for efficiency.
  • Understand job delay information and update plans to prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct periodic job plan field audits.
  • Incorporate constructability and maintainability in planning.
  • Optimize repetitive tasks and PM programs through job planning excellence.
  • Participate in the bidding process and requisitioning for third-party services.
  • Screen work requests to determine if scope is capital or expense.
  • Participate in identifying and implementing reliability-driven improvement projects.
  • Utilize approved scheduling tools to schedule non-emergency maintenance work.
  • Coordinate scheduling efforts with departmental leadership to minimize conflicts.
  • Facilitate scheduled completion of repair work per job priorities.
  • Lead daily and weekly maintenance scheduling meetings.
  • Lead planning, scheduling, and procurement for annual outage/turnaround periods.
  • Utilize project management methodologies to develop outage schedules.
  • Develop and report project critical path for scheduled outages.
  • Work with Procurement to develop job scope for contracted services.
  • Coordinate with departments to identify proper job scope for outage work.
  • Lead lessons learned process and assist in improving standardized outage processes company-wide.
