About The Position

The Planner / Scheduler is responsible for working with the Master Planner/Product Operations Managers, Sales, Project Managers, production personnel and logistics to develop and maintain the production schedule for product lines and sites they are responsible for in accordance with current and future company practices. Follow all company safety and quality requirements. Develop and maintain a weekly production schedule. Provide workloads for production supervisors including job/project paperwork. Review documents such as production schedules, customer orders and staffing tables to determine personnel/material requirements or material priorities. Confer with department supervisors and other team members to assess progress and discuss needed changes. Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs or other interruptions, by collaborating with management, marketing, sales, project managers, production or engineering. For tank and CSP manufactured items, create jobs in SyteLine off the Material Planner Workbench. For tank and CSP, review the exceptions report every morning and correct issues as is necessary. For structural projects, create jobs in SyteLine sourcing from projects by sequence. Work with Project Managers to determine load delivery sequencing to the customer. Working with Purchasing and Inventory Control, maintain inventories of raw materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands. Facilitate in weekly production meeting and determine the most efficient flow of work through the site. Provide leadership in maximizing utilization of the site's resources. Inform Site Operations Manager of ideas, changes, concerns and overall status of department progress on a consistent basis. Provide performance reports by product line, project, and timeframe. Complete monthly reporting, progress tracking, and throughput projections. May be involved in Management and maintenance of the Fabtrol software program. Make recommendations on upgrades and enhancements. Prompt and dependable attendance. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Excellent computer skills
  • Strong production based work experience.
  • General knowledge of drafting standards, steel material products, purchasing, shipping/receiving, ship equipment and fabrication standards.
  • Ability to read blue prints.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Leadership and management training or experience.
  • Experience in scheduling multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding of internal controls.
