About The Position

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a skilled Scheduler to support our customer in Falls Church, VA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project scheduling methodologies, performance tracking and earned value management (EVM). This role plays a critical part in ensuring that projects remain on track, on time and within scope by supporting key stakeholders with accurate schedule forecasting and performance reporting. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Requirements

  • 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
  • Client experience requirements: Between 6 to 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Client education requirements: BA/BS degree in Business, Project Management, or a relevant field.
  • 4 years of additional equivalent experience can be substituted for a BA/BS degree.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Experience collaborating with project managers, engineers or other stakeholders to define project activities and milestones.
  • Experience analyzing project schedules to identify schedule risks and opportunities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive and eager-to-learn attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • An active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Proficiency in scheduling tools such as MS Project or similarly related tools.
  • Project scheduling experience preferably supporting in a government or DoD environment.
  • Strong understanding of project management and scheduling principles (e.g., Gantt charts).

Responsibilities

  • Performs administrative and analytical tasks in support of the cost and schedule baseline and technical performance requirements of a contract program.
  • Develops project schedules and budgets, monitoring tasks, and analyzes performance to meet contractual/project requirements for an assigned program.
  • Participates in establishing and defining program scope and delivery timelines.
  • Monitors and reports performance against plans to ensure that contractual, cost, and schedule objectives are met using industry standard Earned Value Management tools.
  • Interacts regularly with project team and customers to ensure conformance to customer requirements.
  • May support business development activities with regard to cost and schedule performance management.
  • Participates in special projects as required.
