The position involves managing daily patient and physician scheduling using a Practice Management system for ordering labs, diagnostic test orders, and scheduling doctor's visits, follow-up appointments, and hospital procedures and surgeries as needed. The role focuses on optimizing patient satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization. Responsibilities include confirming appointments and scanning orders into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). The assignments may be confidential and require judgment and discretion at all times.

  • Manage daily patient and physician scheduling using Practice Management system.
  • Schedule appointments to optimize patient satisfaction and provider time.
  • Confirm appointments and scan orders into Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Answer telephone and direct calls to appropriate staff.
  • Perform patient check-in and check-out including full registration.
  • Collect co-pays and outstanding balances.
  • Maintain cash drawer, log co-pays and other payments, reconcile balances.
  • Verify referrals and perform pre-certifications as appropriate.
  • Order office supplies and maintain front office and reception area cleanliness.
  • Perform various clerical duties as assigned.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One to three years' experience in Customer Service required.
  • Medical office experience and 1-year prior scheduling experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and social skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of health insurance coverage and requirements.
  • Ability to make change and balance the log sheet.
  • Analytical skills for decision making.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with HIPAA privacy requirements.
