About The Position

The Scheduler Labor and Delivery at HCA HealthONE Rose is responsible for performing clerical and receptionist duties, specifically scheduling inductions, cesarean sections, and other labor and delivery procedures. This role acts as a liaison between labor and delivery and OB offices, providing essential information to patients prior to their scheduled procedures. The Scheduler collaborates with unit directors, charge nurses, and unit secretaries to manage patient schedules effectively, ensuring a smooth operation within the department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Some scheduling or secretarial experience preferred.
  • Experience with computers and medical terminology required.
  • Demonstrates good organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of medical and technical terms to accurately transcribe physician orders and complete requisitions.
  • Excellent computer skills, trained in Microsoft Office, Excel, Meditech, and Kronos.
  • Displays appropriate judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers.
  • Able to work on multiple tasks in a chaotic atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clerical and receptionist duties in accordance with the philosophy and goals of Rose Medical Center.
  • Schedule inductions, cesarean sections, and other labor and delivery procedures.
  • Act as a liaison between labor and delivery and OB offices.
  • Provide information to patients the day before their scheduled procedure.
  • Work with unit director, charge nurses, and unit secretaries to manage all scheduled patients.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the nurse manager.
