About The Position

The Marine Scheduler is a customer facing role with responsibilities for managing the incoming and outgoing product receipts from all sources and product types based on customer demand and storage capability. The marine facilities receive product 24/7/365 from a potential of five different sources – rail car, truck rack, barge/ship, pipeline, and tank-to-tank transfers within the facility. The Marine Scheduler will identify potential timing conflicts with assets that overlap and react accordingly to mitigate the situation in the least impactful way possible. Schedulers rotate an on-call responsibility for 24/7/365 service to accommodate real time changes. Correct, real time decisions are needed daily that can have significant financial impacts to both the customer(s) and ONEOK. Marine Schedulers ensure proper handling and entry of product movement details (bills of lading, meter tickets, pipeline movement sheets) into the inventory management system (Mainsail/Mainmast), verify inventory and storage capacity, compare, and analyze gauge paperwork completed by operations and the third-party inspectors to ensure accounting is receiving accurate information for customer billing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business administration, or accounting with job related experience or equivalent formal education to include a combination of courses such as accounting, business law, business communications, algebra, basic statistics, or speech and the following job related knowledge or experience
  • Experience and thorough knowledge of nomination and scheduling of gas or NGL volumes on a pipeline system
  • Experience analyzing and resolving issues and/or questions concerning scheduling, nominations, balancing, and allocations
  • Experience in use and function of office equipment including mainframe applications and microcomputers and applicable software
  • Experience and/or training related to: Gas purchase Gas control Gas accounting Transportation services Volume control Customer service Pipeline Tariffs NGL Distribution (as specified by position)
  • Experience reading and interpreting applicable contracts, agreements, reports, statements, invoices, confirmations, correspondence, tariffs, government regulations, industry standards, electronic bulletin board communications, and company policies and procedures
  • Experience composing and preparing balancing reports, volume summaries, confirmations, reports, pipeline postings, storage reports, and electronic bulletin board communications
  • Experience analyzing information, conducting meetings, and making presentations
  • Ability to: apply basic math, algebra, and statistics
  • Ability to: communicate and/or exchange written and verbal information or instructions

Responsibilities

  • Initiate, schedule, review, and monitor daily nominations to maintain pipeline integrity by minimizing Operational Balance Agreement (OBA) and shipper or customer imbalances
  • Coordinate with traders regarding overall daily scheduling and balancing positions on interstate and intrastate pipelines; report any problems to traders regarding flow of gas or NGL
  • Interact with gas control representatives, customers, operators, producers, pipeline companies and others concerning nominations, allocations, billing, imbalances, daily flow and operational orders
  • Calculate, prepare, and analyze information or reports including, but not limited to: Allocations Balancing deliveries Nominations and confirmations Pricing Flow rates/capacity issues Measurement discrepancies Storage balances Electronic bulletin board communications Actual Usage – Electronic Flow Measurement (EFM)
