About The Position

This position is responsible for registration and scheduling for outpatient physical rehabilitation services, obtaining insurance and demographic information, handling telephones and department e-mails. Provides constant interactions with patients, families, caregivers, clinicians and physician practices.

Responsibilities

  • Represents department as the initial contact by establishing and maintaining positive customer relations. Greets patients upon arrival. Answers question and explains services steps to ensure patient satisfaction.
  • Answers very busy phone lines and appropriately directs or processes calls. Handles PMR department incoming mail per supervisor instructions.
  • Completes intake, new account registration, and check-in processes independently.
  • Schedules appointments for multiple outpatient rehabilitation locations. Tracks, schedules special consideration patients, and maintains the "on-call" list.
  • Faxes, scans and file documentation into the medical record on a daily basis.
  • Establishes and maintains therapistsï templates in Soarian Scheduling.
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of outpatient physical rehabilitation billing and procedures.
  • Provides orientation and training to new hired on scheduling processes.
  • Provides effective communication with insurance specialists, clinicians and referring physician offices.
  • Compiles checklist or reports regarding scheduling data per supervisor guidance.
  • Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

  • Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as required.
