About The Position

Coulee Medical Center is seeking a Scanning Specialist to join our Health Information Management (HIM) department, this position plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and accessibility of patient health records within our electronic health record system.

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• Proficient in computer systems, scanning, equipment, and office technology
• Excellent communication and team work skills

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a medical or healthcare setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Review documents for completeness and regulatory compliance
• Prepare and scan documents into the electronic health record system
• Accurately index and label documents within patient charts
• Monitor for duplicate or incomplete records
• Process record requests for patients and external entities
• Assist staff with medical record questions
• Support HIM analysts as needed
• Maintain confidentiality of all protected health information
