CTG is seeking to fill a Scanning Operator Level 2 opening for our client in Chantilly, Virginia. The Scanning/Indexing Technician plays a crucial role in the Planning Department, ensuring the accurate digitization and organization of various documents. This role involves document preparation, scanning, indexing, and quality control. The Technician must adhere to specific guidelines and work closely with the Project Manager and Task Leader. The position requires assisting with the day-to-day operations within a Digital Imaging Center, focusing on digital imaging and related duties. The responsibilities of the Scanning Operator include ensuring customer issues and escalations are resolved or further escalated as appropriate, conducting quality checks on their own work to ensure accuracy and that the required output meets standards, and adhering to all safety procedures and security requirements. The Technician must be able to work independently as well as part of a team, perform backfile duties for absent coworkers, and complete other duties as assigned by the Lead or Manager. Administrative support functions such as supplies fulfillment, filing, and entering data into the Meridian system are also part of the role. In terms of indexing, the Technician will enter index attribute data, which includes unique box numbers, folder descriptions, and sequential document numbers. They will also handle indexing exceptions and print barcode labels as required. Quality assurance is a critical function, where the Technician will validate indexed files by comparing hard copy documents to scanned images, looking for signs of errors such as multiple pages being scanned at once or missing documents. Data entry tasks will involve preparing, compiling, and sorting documents, checking for accuracy, and updating or deleting unnecessary files. The role requires minimal to moderate physical effort, including moving boxes and loading paper into machines, as well as mental demands such as problem-solving and effective communication.
