About The Position

Martella’s Pharmacies is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable employee to join our Shipping Department within our closed-door pharmacy. This position plays an essential role in ensuring that all prescription orders are accurately scanned, verified, and prepared for delivery to facilities and patients. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with scanning software and electronic records.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Dependable and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and complying with all HIPAA regulations.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in a pharmacy, shipping, or warehouse environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Scan and verify all prescription labels and packing slips to ensure accuracy prior to shipment.
Match orders to the correct patient or facility and verify completeness before packaging.
Maintain organized digital and physical records of scanned documentation.
Assist in preparing and labeling shipments for delivery according to pharmacy protocols.
Report discrepancies or damaged items to the Shipping Department Supervisor.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and company confidentiality policies when handling patient information.
Collaborate with shipping and pharmacy staff to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the scanning and shipping areas.
Operate barcode scanners, label printers, and other related equipment safely and efficiently.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the shipping and pharmacy operations.
