About The Position

The position requires an individual to perform essential duties with accuracy and maintain a high level of productivity. The role emphasizes customer relations, morale within the department, and compliance with company policies. The individual will coordinate training for team members involved with scanning, ensure accurate pricing, and contribute to the store's profits and revenues. The position also involves supervising scanning equipment maintenance and assisting the Store Leader with evaluations and disciplinary actions.

Requirements

  • City, county, state, and/or federal certifications may be required.
  • Ability to write, speak, hear, and understand the spoken word.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and manuals.
  • Basic computer skills required; excellent skills in MS Excel, Word, etc. required.
  • Required to use or operate pallet jack, forklift, box cutters, ordering machine, computer, two-wheeler, etc.
  • Previous experience as a cashier is required.
  • Supervisor skills preferred.
  • Basic math skills required, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
  • Understanding of gross projections, transmittals, weekly summaries, invoices, transfers, labor goals, and inventory.
  • Minimum age of 18 years; 21 years required to sell tobacco products and/or alcohol.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibit and develop maximum customer relations through friendly and courteous behavior.
  • Promote a high level of morale within the department and store.
  • Maintain good working relationships with other department managers.
  • Comply with all company policies, programs, and directives.
  • Provide professional examples for other store team members.
  • Coordinate with the Store Leader for training of all team members involved with scanning.
  • Test, verify, and scan all UPC marked items in store on a rotation basis.
  • Ensure timely and accurate price markings on all items, shelf tags, and in-store signs.
  • Monitor pricing for errors and ensure corrections are made immediately.
  • Maintain productivity standards for self and scanning team members.
  • Maintain adequate and appropriate department records.
  • Supervise repairs and maintenance of scanning equipment.
  • Assist guests with inquiries in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Assist Store Leader with evaluations of scanning team members and disciplinary actions.
  • Attend and contribute to departmental, store, and company meetings.
