About The Position

The Scan Coordinator is responsible for ensuring accurate pricing, itemization, tagging, signing, and documentation of UPC/PLU's for all store merchandise. This role involves operating computers, maintaining computerized records, and addressing scanning issues to enhance customer service and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Ability to learn and memorize a considerable amount of information including PLU codes and product locations.
  • Basic mathematics skills are required.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, walk, bend, stoop, and reach continuously throughout the work shift.
  • Manual dexterity, good eye-hand coordination, and good balance are necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper pricing, itemization, tagging, signing, and documentation of UPC/PLU's for all store merchandise.
  • Champion company and division customer service programs to meet or exceed customer service goals.
  • Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with a focus on fast, friendly, courteous service and accurate pricing.
  • Organize timely and accurate price changes and maintain proper scan descriptions and valid item modifiers.
  • Sort tags and signs by department/aisle and hang price tags and signs throughout the store.
  • Research and correct problems including missing or damaged tags and discontinued items.
  • Conduct scanning audits and correct new item discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper placement of bonus buy tags and signs and justify entries on the Exception Report.
  • Review Duplicate Report and identify and correct problems as required.
  • Monitor not-on-file and hard to scan UPC codes and perform monthly checks of Produce Shelf pricing and PLU's.
  • Implement proper scan give-away procedures and maintain price accuracy guarantee signs.
  • Maintain point-of-sale equipment and implement emergency procedures as required.
  • Back up computerized returned check file and maintain a current UPC/PLU backup file.
  • Operate related equipment including scan audit devices, computers, and checkstand equipment.
  • Occasionally operate hand trucks, six-wheel carts, and pallet jacks, and perform checking, stocking, and training duties as needed.
