About The Position

The Scale Operator position at Nucor involves ensuring safety in all job functions, which is the most important aspect of the role. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. The role includes obtaining required information from customers for all transactions, completing necessary purchasing and shipping documents, and conducting daily reconciliations. The operator will also review all documents to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements, coordinate shipments (rail and truck), maintain safety records, and process paperwork on radiation events. Additional duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

• 2 years' cash handling and direct customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.
• High School diploma; college degree preferred.
• Basic math, account reconciliation, computer and data entry skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with customers.
• Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
• Flexible to work off hours, weekends and holidays in an industrial environment.
• Basic computer knowledge for work related purposes.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety practices including proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Obtain required information from customers for all transactions.
