About The Position

The Scale Operator will work the 2nd shift from 3pm to 11pm at the Jonesboro, AR location, specifically in the Parboil Shipping department. The role involves operating sewing line scales, setting up the scales for bagging, and manually catching bags. The operator will also be responsible for operating a sewing machine, performing light maintenance on the scales and sewing machines, conducting metal detector checks, and ensuring all food safety checks associated with the sewing lines are completed. Daily cleaning tasks and weekly deep cleaning tasks are also part of the job, along with performing pre-operational checklists. The position requires adherence to food safety policies and procedures, as well as plant safety protocols.

Requirements

• One year certificate from college or technical school; or High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Operate sewing line scales and set them up for bagging.
• Manually catch bags during the bagging process.
• Operate sewing machines and perform light maintenance on them.
• Conduct metal detector checks.
• Perform food safety checks associated with the sewing lines.
• Perform light maintenance on the label machine.
• Complete daily cleaning tasks and weekly deep cleaning tasks.
• Perform pre-operational checklists.
• Follow HACCP and Food Safety policies/procedures.
• Observe and assist persons entering the work area and report unauthorized persons to the supervisor.
• Attend training as required or approved by the supervisor.
