About The Position

The Scale Operations Specialist is responsible for accurately weighing inbound and outbound trucks, maintaining detailed and accurate records, and ensuring smooth scale house operations for multiple aggregate sites. This role is based in a fast-paced, open-office team environment where collaboration, communication and adaptability are key to success.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Two or more years of experience in scale house operations, logistics/transportation, customer service, or related field preferred.
  • Proficient with computer systems, including scale house software and Microsoft Windows programs such as Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with customer transactions and performs other duties while promoting a safe, team working environment.
  • Operate remote truck scale system to accurately weigh vehicles and materials.
  • Verify load information, truck identification and compliance with company policies.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, vendors and internal teams to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of weights, transactions and other necessary documentation.
  • Ability to create, record, and track customer invoices in electronic systems.
  • Assist with data entry, reporting and general administrative tasks as required.
  • Troubleshoot basic issues with the scale system and escalate as needed.
  • Ability to demonstrate efficient and professional customer service skills.
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have strong mathematical skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership team.
