About The Position

The position is responsible for ensuring corporate compliance with state and federal Weights and Measure regulations. The individual will manage the Scale Maintenance Program, including overseeing the capital budget process. This role involves engaging with Regional Operations management and other internal and external resources to evaluate and develop strategies, programs, and services aimed at improving service delivery of scale maintenance while ensuring alignment with grain divisional strategies. The position also requires liaising with governing and regulatory bodies at local, state, and federal levels, participating in the planning and management of capital projects, and implementing health, safety, environmental, and security programs. Additionally, the role includes managing quality assurance programs, identifying and communicating best practices, providing direction in negotiations, and developing reports on work unit achievements and challenges. The individual will also direct working groups for the maintenance and development of Viterra's physical assets and provide insights into future facility development.

Requirements

  • Ability to work and interact well with others.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience working in an elevator and/or terminal.
  • Minimum five (5) to eight (8) years of experience in scale maintenance and/or construction, including bulk material handling systems.
  • A degree or diploma in Agriculture, Business Administration or Commerce is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in reading building plans and specifications.
  • Computer competent with experience in spreadsheet, database, and word processing.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure corporate compliance with state and federal Weights and Measure.
  • Manage the Scale Maintenance Program including the capital budget process.
  • Engage with Regional Operations management and other resources to evaluate and develop strategies for improved service delivery of scale maintenance.
  • Liaise with governing and regulatory bodies at local, state, and federal levels.
  • Participate in planning, development, and management of capital projects.
  • Implement and support health, safety, environmental, and security programs.
  • Manage quality assurance programs for all projects/activities.
  • Identify and communicate management and operational best practices.
  • Provide direction to Supply Chain Services in negotiations and evaluate contracted scale maintenance resources.
  • Develop and submit regular and ad hoc reports on work unit achievements and challenges.
  • Direct and participate in working groups for maintenance and development of physical assets.
  • Provide direction on future facility development regarding equipment specifications.
  • Work closely with Regional Operations management on facility condition and maintenance requirements.
  • Evaluate and recommend critical inventory based on facility equipment design.
  • Perform other duties as required.
