Essential Job Summary: The Scale Operator will be mainly responsible for weighing in and weight out solid waste vehicles from both company drivers and third-party vendors/haulers. They will oversee receiving payments, checking loads, and always ensuring the safety of the landfill and scale.

Requirements

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• High school/GED education completed; higher education is a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of warehouse environment experience.
• Working knowledge of general computer skills.
• Knowledgeable in the safe operation of all garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists, and jacking equipment
• Consistently capable of working independently to safely analyze and resolve problems.
• Fluency in English required, Spanish bilingual is a plus.

Nice To Haves

• Experience from the sanitation industry is strongly preferred.
• Experience working with scales is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first point of contact for any drivers, customers, or other traffic at the scale house
• Accurately calculate and process payments, weights and other measurements
• Verify incoming loads do not contain any unnecessary or inappropriate material
• Various administrative tasks including regular filing, data entry and reporting
• Provide general upkeep of the scale house
• Additional duties as assigned.
