About The Position

Waste Connections has an immediate opening for an experienced Scale House Attendant/Spotter to join the team at our location in Miami TS, Miami, FL. Previous waste experience would be a huge plus! Monday-Saturday starting time is based on one of the four shifts beginning at 4 a.m. up to 8:30 p.m. This position includes weekend work & Holidays. The shifts are typically 8-9 hours Monday–Friday Saturdays between 6 a.m. - 4 p.m. Pay rate $19.50 per hour DOE

Requirements

Excellent customer service skills.
Willing to travel between Dade and Broward County to help at other Waste Connections Transfer Stations if needed
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel.
Must have flexible availability to include weekends & Holidays.

Responsibilities

Greet and direct all customers and employees upon entry of the transfer station.
Track weight information from scale to computer system and get appropriate signatures.
Calculate payments for customers.
Ensure incoming garbage loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material.
Approach all encounters with employees, customers, and vendors in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
Spotting Trucks/outside for a good portion of the day
Traffic Control-work with other employees to maintain a smooth traffic flow allowing our customers to enter the facility and leave in a timely manner
Cleaning Equipment
Picking up litter
Must be able lift 50lbs or greater
Geneal site cleanup
Performing other assigned duties as the site
