About The Position

The Scale Clerk position encompasses a wide range of operational responsibilities designed to ensure the smooth functioning of the truck scale. In this role, the Scale Clerk must have the ability to multitask and work closely with customers while maintaining a professional attitude.

Truck Scale experience preferred

Responsibilities

Runs and monitors truck scale program.
Determines maximum allowable weight for each truck.
Collects fees by handling cash and credit card transactions at the scale.
Maintains detailed records of incoming/outgoing loads that cross the scales and prepares reports as needed.
Maintains work area and equipment in a safe and clean condition at all times.
Runs daily, weekly, and monthly reports for the Sales Team and other sites in the area
Processes outside vendors’ trucking reports
Maintains truck scale badges for Burns Harbor
Processes invoices for the Sales Team and Burns Harbor
Processes the Boat and Barge reports for Burns Harbor and Indiana Harbor West
Greets customers in a professional and polite manner.
Prepares scales for daily use; ability to maintain two (2) scales simultaneously.
Maintain customer invoice history and ticket files.
Acts as supporting back up for other admin positions.
