About The Position

The position involves ensuring compliance with safety procedures at Hanwha Philly Shipyard, supervising subcontracted labor, managing scaffold material inventory, tracking manpower and budget, and maintaining a safe working environment. Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• At least 5 years' professional experience in shipyards with shipbuilding production or ship repair
• At least 5 years' professional experience in businesses with manufacturing of heavy steel structures
• At least 5 years' professional experience in the erection of scaffolding, handrails and/or staging
• Supervisory experience leading production teams
• Possess valid OSHA 29 CFR 1926.451 Scaffold Competent Person Certificate
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all Hanwha Philly Shipyard safety procedures, rules and regulations are followed and met
• Supervise the subcontracted labor force and coordinate around scheduling conflicts as need arises
• Keep up with current and future scaffold material inventory needs
• Continuous manning tracking, progress reporting, and budget control and updating regularly in the production information in the data systems
• Meet deadlines for scaffold requests
• Maintain scaffold request system and assign levels of importance to jobs
• Maintain teams' mobile equipment in working order and contact United Rentals (or current rental contractor) for issues with equipment and see that it is repaired in a timely manner
• Oversee that the staging that is being requested is needed and that it's not possible to use an alternate means to get to the area that was requested, i.e. high reach or scissor lift
• Maintain a safe and clean working area at all times throughout all tasked locations
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned
