The Scaffold Leadman is responsible for providing leadership, instruction, and guidance to craft workers in a work crew. This position falls into the medium physical demand category and reports directly to the Foreman. The Leadman must display a positive attitude towards safety, quality, policy, and procedures, and must have knowledge of and exercise all OSHA, Brand, and customer policies at the job site. Responsibilities include completing a qualified Job Safety Plan, demonstrating proper site preparation prior to scaffold erection, and ensuring safe practices are observed. The Leadman will also mentor crew members, participate in safety talks, and monitor team members' health and behavior changes. Other duties may include loading and unloading materials, erecting and dismantling scaffold equipment, and performing general laborer duties related to the scaffold trade.

  • Provide leadership, instruction, and guidance to craft workers in work crew.
  • Assist the Foreman as needed.
  • Complete a qualified Job Safety Plan identifying hazards and risks.
  • Select and use proper PPE as identified on the JSP.
  • Demonstrate proper site preparation prior to scaffold erection, modification, or dismantling.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, instructions, and other documentation.
  • Erect and dismantle scaffold equipment as part of a crew.
  • Observe safe practices and use proper ladder climbing techniques.
  • Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment, and supplies using proper lift techniques.
  • Put up caution tape, flags, and hang tags on flagging.
  • Participate and mentor crew to lead toolbox talks on safety and performance.
  • Monitor and recognize behavior and health changes in team members.
  • Complete other duties as deemed necessary by Supervisor.
  • Promote and build team attitude.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must have 4 years of experience in the scaffold craft.
  • Must pass Brand's skills assessment.
  • Must possess NCCER Certification Plus as a Scaffold Builder (SCFB31).
  • Must be willing to become a qualified Brand Mentor within 6 months from date of hire.
  • Must be able to pass an extensive background check and drug and alcohol testing.
  • Some computer skills may be required.
  • Bilingual communication preferred.
  • Driver requirements in accordance with Brand Vehicle Policy, if required.
