About The Position

Phoenix Paper Wickliffe LLC is searching for qualified candidates to assume the role of a Scaffold Builder. Summary: The Scaffold Builder’s primary responsibility is constructing and dismantling temporary scaffolding structures, thereby ensuring safety and stability for workers during maintenance, and repair projects. Additionally, duties include fixing machinery, plumbing, keeping buildings and grounds clean, safe and functional. They are also responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing all tools and equipment utilized to safely perform their work. This is an hourly, non-exempt position that is eligible for overtime.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of scaffold construction.
  • General carpentry/millwright experience relevant to a manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperature conditions (both hot and cold), and around heavy/moving equipment.
  • Ability to work at extreme heights while using proper personal protective equipment (“PPE”).
  • General mechanical aptitude & trouble shooting skills.
  • Possess/Maintain a valid Driver’s License.
  • Adequate transportation to and from work facility required.
  • Possess attention to detail.
  • Self-starter, with the ability to work independently and as a team member.

Nice To Haves

  • Industrial manufacturing experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build frameworks and assemble structural components as well as scaffolding.
  • Inspect and repair damaged structures and fixtures.
  • Outline and follow blueprints for projects, estimate job requirements and order materials.
  • Safely operate various manufacturing equipment, follow specific directions, and perform duties as assigned.
  • Performs various housekeeping, cleaning, and organizing functions with minimal supervision to ensure areas are clean and free from debris.
  • Performs inspections on various equipment for proper operation and report questionable conditions.
  • Unload tools, prepare site materials, and set up equipment.
  • Follow project instructions from manager or supervisor.
  • Use tools and equipment to complete daily tasks; ensure equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including when operating equipment.
  • Ensure regulated and proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and applicable safety clothing are worn.
  • Communicate and interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels and work as a team member.
  • Complete all assigned tasks in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
