About The Position

The SCADA Systems Specialist is responsible for the development, design, implementation and maintenance of pipeline SCADA and associated systems including related interfaces, communications, and applications. They will provide support of critical 24/7 SCADA production systems to ensure continuous system availability. The position will work collaboratively with the SCADA team, corporate IT, and project leads to implement cost effective and innovative SCADA solutions.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 or more years of experience with Microsoft operating systems including Windows Server
  • 3 or more years of experience supporting SCADA systems, including distributed control concepts, VSAT communications, and SCADA applications
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as C# or Python and technologies like SQL

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • 5 or more years of experience with AVEVA OASyS or WonderWare SCADA configuration or control systems configuration experience
  • 3 or more years of experience with process control design and implementation
  • 3 or more years of experience with satellite, VSAT, radio, LTE wireless, and front-end processor (FEP) technology and architecture
  • Experience working on industrial control system networks and communication protocols for data gathering

Responsibilities

  • Understanding diverse business requirements and translating those requirements into applicable solutions
  • Integration support for SCADA with other applications such as PI and Flowcal
  • Designing, developing, and implementing innovative solutions to drive high performance and availability of the SCADA system
  • Providing support, approval, and liaison for IT for infrastructure change management
  • Maintaining a positive working relationship with team members, contractors, and vendors
  • Maintaining a broad understanding of information technology and business processes to assess impact and prioritize activities
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of cyber security standards for Industrial Control Systems (ICS), such as ANSI/ISA-62443, API 1164, NIST SP 800
  • Maintaining a basic knowledge of regulations and industry standards for SCADA and pipeline systems, such as PHMSA and API 1165
  • Developing and providing tools and documented procedures in support of training for SCADA and control center operations
  • Participating in and leading special projects as assigned
  • Providing on-call support for system infrastructure, communications, and applications as needed
  • Supporting the administration of operating system, database, and application patch management requirements
  • Supporting the change management process in accordance with company policies and industry best practices
