SCADA & Automation Engineers design, program, and integrate SCADA systems for utility, industrial, and renewable clients. As a SCADA & Automation Engineer in our Grid business unit, you will engage in fast-paced client projects to plan, engineer, and design SCADA and communications systems. This involves developing various technical drawings such as communication block diagrams, panel layout/bill of material drawings, SCADA AC & DC schematics, fiber detail drawings, and network drawings. You will also provide design input for P&C drawings, develop points lists for data transfer, and configure Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) and programmable automation controllers (PACs). Programming Human Machine Interface (HMI) applications and coordinating with relay settings engineers for communication port settings are also key responsibilities. The role includes developing network device configurations, performing troubleshooting of SCADA system network and communication systems both remotely and onsite, and developing comprehensive SCADA system and network documentation. You will also be expected to develop automation tools to improve project efficiency and stage, configure, and test integrated systems in the Protection, Automation & Telecommunication Laboratory, ensuring strict adherence to NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards. The position requires coordination and guidance to other engineers, project managers, client personnel, and suppliers. Career development is supported through peer-learning and knowledge sharing. There is potential for travel to client and vendor offices as needed. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring three days a week in the office and allowing two days of remote work.
