As a SCADA Applications Engineer (Owner's Representative) at WECTEC Staffing Services, you will be part of an innovative team that supports Westinghouse's mission to provide clean energy solutions. This contract position lasts for one year and is remote, with travel required up to 50%. Your role will involve achieving project deadlines related to the SCADA system, collaborating with in-house resources and sub-suppliers to determine project priorities, and planning and scheduling work to meet deliverables. You will design, integrate, program, commission, and test power plant controllers and SCADA for Photovoltaic and Energy Storage Systems. Additionally, you will review SCADA engineering designs and report on progress to management on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, while also performing other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Achieve projects deadlines pertaining to the scope of the SCADA system.
  • Work collaboratively with in-house resources and sub suppliers in various disciplines to determine project priorities, achieve milestones and actions, schedule and work plans to meet milestones.
  • Plan and schedule work and vendors to achieve portfolio deliverables.
  • Design, integrate, program, commission and test power plant controller and SCADA for Photovoltaic and Energy Store System.
  • Review and comment on SCADA engineering design.
  • Report daily, weekly, and monthly on progress to management.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor or Equivalent degree in Engineering or Automation System with experience or related education with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA).
  • Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience or related education in programming and commissioning of SCADA.
  • Commissioning and integration of SCADA systems
  • Control system architecture and PLC programs
  • Knowledge of Ignition, OPC protocol and SCADA historian.
  • Knowledge of automation protocols (Modbus, DNP3, CAN, OPC, EtherNet/IP, others)
  • RTU to RTU interface and Programming
  • Schedule and planning understanding
  • Electrical and Communications plan-set understanding
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving
  • Knowledge of AC and DC circuits and troubleshooting ability.
  • Knowledge of Utility Meters, Substation RTAC, Protection Relays
  • Knowledge managed switches, Hirschman's, MOXA, Cisco, etc.
  • Knowledge of Networking, Cyber Security and Firewalls
  • Knowledge of renewable SCADA and control systems.
  • 0-10 volt and 4-20 mA loop knowledge and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to understand SCADA and communication schematics and drawings.
  • Project Management experience handling multiple consultants, vendors and EPCs.
  • Third party firm management.
