About The Position

The SCA Food Service Worker is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to food service operations, including comprehensive sanitation, cleaning of dining rooms, and dishwashing duties. Key responsibilities extend to line serving, maintaining the kitchen area, and handling pots and pans according to specific temperature and cleanliness standards. The role also involves maintaining outdoor areas and lavatories to ensure safety and sanitation. This is a full-time position requiring professional conduct and flexibility to work in various client environments.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to meet basic requirements of the position as stated in the Statement of Work
  • Process or learn basic knowledge of food handling procedures, sanitation and personal hygiene standards
  • Ability to adapt to work changes
  • Must be able to understand and comprehend English
  • Able and willing to follow simple instruction in job requirements and safety procedures
  • Able to perform simple tasks without constant supervisor
  • Ability to learn and utilize kitchen equipment as required in performing job tasking
  • Must be able to distinguish between food preparation items and chemicals
  • Must be able to pass ServSafe starters course or prime contractor equivalent course

Responsibilities

  • Perform all sanitation tasks
  • Clean dining rooms: clean tables and chairs, restock condiments/napkins and etc., vacuum and sweep carpets, sweep and mop floors
  • Perform dish washing duties: set up and tear down dishwasher, unload busser carts, pre-scrape and stack dishes, pull, stack and ensure the cleanliness of dishes, place in racks for use on serving line, ensure serving areas are properly stocked with service items for patrons
  • Perform line serving duties: ensure cleanliness of line and surrounding areas to include floor during serving hours, responsible for cleaning standards as outlined in Statement of Work
  • Responsible for kitchen area including: trash and garbage removal, sweep/mop kitchen area as required for maintaining standards in the Statement of Work, deep clean kitchen equipment, ovens and overhead hoods as outlined in Statement of Work
  • Perform pots and pans duties to include: understanding of minimum temperatures for wash, rinse and sanitation water, required minimum temperature of mechanical washing equipment if applicable, proper drying and racking techniques to ensure complete drying of wares
  • Maintaining sanitation requirements of: pots and pans washing area including counters, sinks and machinery, pots and pans storage racks, shelving and holding inserts used for utensil storage
  • Maintain outdoor areas to include: cleaning of back dock and stairs, customer entrances to ensure safety and sanitation issues are maintained, removal and cleaning of waste cans, bussing carts and portable holding units, arrangement of outside storage items in a safe, clean and presentable manner, clean and stock lavatories as per the standards outlined in the Statement of Work
  • Professional conduct in accordance with WSC policy
  • Performs other job related duties as required by the on duty supervisor
