About The Position

The SC Student Custodian, under the supervision of the Student Center Custodial Services Coordinator, will perform custodial duties in the Student Center facilities related to care, maintenance and safe operation of heavy cleaning equipment in spaces to include offices, hallways, lounges, conference spaces, dining areas, restrooms, common areas, and exterior spaces.

Requirements

Ability to follow directions and complete projects as assigned.
Basic knowledge of safe practices and willing to follow OSHA regulated procedures.
Knowledge of basic cleaning equipment.
Maintain good attendance and work cooperatively with co-workers.
Currently enrolled, matriculating CSU Stanislaus student with a minimum 2.0 grade point average.
Work an average of 15-20 flexible hours per week.
Able to work some Saturdays or Sundays.

Responsibilities

Exterior cleaning of the building as assigned.
Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
Empty wastebaskets and recycling containers.
Clean in preparation for events in the Student Center, Event Center, and Quad.
Clean equipment and furniture as well as the facility after events and programs.
Vacuum and dust.
Ensure entrances are kept clean and free of trash, dirt, etc.
Clean restrooms including sweeping, mopping, re-stocking of restroom supplies, and cleaning all fixtures.
Vacuum and steam clean carpets according to schedule.
Sweep and mop internal stairwells according to schedule.
Spot clean internal glass doors and door frame panels.
Clean exterior glass doors as needed.
Disinfect all high touch areas throughout the day.
Wash all rags, mop heads and bonnet pads.
Re-arrange furniture in public areas of the building as assigned.
Keep SC equipment and storage areas clean and organized at all times.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
