About The Position

The Snoqualmie Behavioral Health Services Clinician provides leadership and clinical oversight for Snoqualmie Behavioral Health Services (SBHS), including Mental Health, Substance Use Disorder, and integrated dual-diagnosis programs. This position ensures program coordination, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and culturally responsive services. In addition to program management, this position maintains a limited caseload, providing direct assessment and treatment to clients.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with IHS/SAMHSA Behavioral Health frameworks.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2 (confidentiality of SUD records), and other behavioral health privacy standards.
  • Skilled in de-escalation techniques and managing behavioral health crises.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices for behavioral health program design, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Strong leadership and program management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to analyze clinical data, track performance metrics, and implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with care coordination and referrals.
  • Excellent customer service skills and written and verbal communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with diverse populations in a courteous, helpful, and clearly understood manner
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use tact and discretion.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and develop supervisors and clinical staff.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and electronic health records.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Master’s degree in counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related behavioral health field.
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in behavioral health.
  • At least 3 years in a supervisory or program management role.
  • Experience in dual diagnosis and culturally informed care.
  • Must have and maintain Washington State licensure (e.g., LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LPC, or equivalent).
  • Must possess a valid Washington State Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) license, or be actively participating in the SUDP “fast track” program and making satisfactory progress toward completion.
  • Must be able to pass a thorough pre-employment background investigation.
  • Must possess valid Washington State driver’s license and insurability under Tribal policy.
  • Must agree to be subject to the Tribe's Controlled Substance and Alcohol Testing Policy to include pre-employment screening.
  • Upon hire, successfully complete and maintain all training requirements to include defensive driving, fire suppression, passenger assistance, HIPAA, Cultural sensitivity, and child safety seat securement trainings.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of tribal communities, history, traditions, and culturally based client care, strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in Native communities with families and parents strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, direct, evaluate, and support the Mental Health Clinical Supervisor, SUD Clinical Supervisor, and dual-credentialed therapist.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and professional development of SBHS staff.
  • Ensure coordination of care for clients with co-occurring disorders and promote integrated treatment approaches.
  • Oversee compliance with federal, state, and Tribal regulations (WAC, RCW, Medicaid/Medicare, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Maintain awareness of advances in regulations and applicable laws that govern behavioral health services, government regulations, health insurance changes, and financing options.
  • Lead program-level quality assurance, including regular audits, performance evaluations, and reporting to Tribal leadership.
  • Provide a caseload of direct services, including client intakes, assessments, treatment planning, and individual/group therapy.
  • Support dual-diagnosis clients through integrated treatment strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case reviews and provide clinical consultation to SBHS staff as needed.
  • Coordinate care and conduct community outreach (e.g. Tribal programs, local schools, etc.)
  • Plan, implement, and administer programs and services in the behavioral health services program, including personnel administration, training, and coordination of client care.
  • Conduct and administer fiscal operations, including accounting, planning budgets, authorizing expenditures, establishing rates for services, and coordinating financial reporting.
  • Documenting operational tasks and reporting to upper-level management.
  • Conduct SBHS employee reviews and assessments.
  • Organizing team roles, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring performance of supervisors.
  • Assist with new employee onboarding and training initiatives.
