About The Position

The SBHC Patient Access Representative is the first point of contact between the students and their families and our School Based Health Center, with responsibilities for supporting the students and their families either in person or via the phone, offering a professional invitation to our clinic while upholding the ASQ (Access, Stewardship, and Quality) pillars. This will include scheduling, patient outreach, and ensuring care is coordinated and integrated between all three service lines (medical, dental, and behavioral health). This role regularly supports students and families in English and Spanish; bilingual (English/Spanish) communication is an essential function for delivering access and care coordination across service lines. Requirements

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is required.
  • Proficient customer service skills, preferably in healthcare, but not required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of digital systems (including Microsoft Office Suite) is required.
  • Critical level of attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior healthcare or school-based administrative experience.
  • Understanding of consent, confidentiality, and documentation requirements for patients.
  • Familiarity with culturally responsive communication and working with diverse communities.

Responsibilities

  • Transitioning patients from the point of contact to their appointment through to patient checkout while maximizing patient scheduling opportunities and attending to operational flow and patient needs.
  • Screen all new and established patients for eligibility for all School Based Health Services.
  • Prepare patient records for appointment readiness.
  • Gather required paperwork and update demographics, insurance, and enrollment for accurate records completion in the Electronic Records system.
  • Responsible for filling schedules, scrubbing, and reminder calls for Summit High, Summit Middle, Dillon Valley Elementary, Silverthorne Elementary, and Upper Blue Elementary schools.
  • Collect payment and complete end-of-day reconciliation.
  • Participate in school and community events, including but not limited to back-to-school nights, school registrations, and SBHC immunization clinics.
  • Lead and participate in team huddles.
  • Provide administrative support for integrated care.
  • Other duties as assigned by the SBHC manager.
  • Complete all the required training as designated by HR and the position supervisor.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and those outlined in the ECH Employee Handbook.
  • Comply with all ECH Vaccine Mandates.
  • Willingness to travel and work at other ECH locations as determined by the supervisor.
  • Comply with all applicable Credentialing and Privileging requirements in a timely manner.
