The SBA Specialist plays a crucial role in the borrower experience, acting as the primary point of contact for small business owners navigating the SBA loan process. As an SBA Specialist, you will be responsible for guiding borrowers through documentation, ensuring a smooth and efficient loan process, and proactively identifying and resolving issues that may arise. Additionally, SBA Specialists are measured on borrower engagement, document completion rates, loan conversion, and overall borrower satisfaction. You will advocate for borrowers by ensuring their needs are met while aligning with lender guidelines and SBA requirements. When challenges arise, you will work closely with Funding Desk Processors, Account Executives, and underwriters to address concerns and keep deals on track. This is a quota-driven role, requiring both relationship management and sales acumen, similar to that of a relationship manager role at a bank. SBA Specialists ensure borrowers remain engaged, compliant, and well-supported throughout the loan process.
