About The Position

The SBA Portfolio Manager & Construction Liaison is responsible for monitoring and managing SBA 7(a) loans, SBA 504 loans and USDA B&I Loans. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: Essential Position Responsibilities: Conduct financial reviews. Collect and analyze updated financials and recommend risk rating changes and other actions based on the financial condition and operating trend of the borrower. Maintain continuous contact with borrowers as necessary to work out a repayment plan to decrease delinquent loan payments. Identify potential problem loans based on red flag and risk indicators and take timely action to prevent further deterioration. Order or facilitate directly periodic site visits and other reports as necessary to properly service the loan. Ensure that site visits do not exceed 60 days past the delinquency date. Manage all loan servicing requests from clients as it relates to their loans. Monitor loans in the SBA loan portfolio to identify any delinquent property taxes. Work with borrowers to resolve issues regarding delinquent property taxes. Review problem loans and analyze financial condition and operating history and make recommendations based on the analysis to refer accounts to Special Assets. In default situations, updating collateral evaluations and complete the necessary reports for Special Assets. Generate management reports monthly as needed or requested. Prepare purchase packages for SBA & Bi-Annual reports for SBA. Comply with the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and USA PATRIOT Act including Customer Identification Program, customer due diligence, identifying high-risk accounts, and reporting suspicious activities to Supervisor or BSA Department. Must adhere to applicable regulations, internal controls, policies, procedures and the Code of Conduct. Complete all required training sessions related to these regulations. Manage all third-party reports as required for loans (bidding, ordering, securing, review and maintaining all records). Manage the construction loan process as it relates to initial project review with third party construction management company. Coordinate all draw requests and disbursements of loan proceeds with third party construction vendor, borrower & GC. Coordinate as required with credit and closing on any changes or modifications needed on construction or multiple disbursement loans in process. Contribute to the bank team effort by working on special projects and reports, performing other job-related duties, at the discretion of the supervisor.

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business to include advanced knowledge of book and tax accounting.
  • Substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks; prepare financial spreads and utilize them in financial analysis reporting; and has the ability to use, understand and apply credit policy and bank regulations to responsibilities.
  • Exercise good judgment and discretion in the handling of confidential information and making recommendations to Directors and Bank Management for loans requiring credit decisions.
  • Completes diverse deadline driven tasks.
  • Works with highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills necessary to interact and communicate with various levels of internal and external clients.
  • Solid time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.

  • Responsible for the timely completion of all required compliance training such has BSA, Information Security, and other job specific training as assigned.
  • The responsibility to acquire and maintain the required knowledge of State and Federal Banking regulations and policies.

Nice To Haves

  • A preference of 5-10 years of experience as a bank credit analyst and/or loan underwriter.
