About The Position

The SBA Eligibility Review Officer III plays a critical role in reviewing SBA and USDA guaranteed business loans, ensuring they meet eligibility requirements and are structured correctly for closing. This position serves as a subject matter expert, providing guidance to various teams within the bank and managing a pipeline of complex loans, typically up to $5 million.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 7 years of direct SBA/USDA lending/due diligence experience or 5 years of HNB SBA/USDA lending/due diligence experience.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Demonstrated confidence and professionalism in interactions with all levels of the organization.
• Excellent analytical skills to document transaction risks.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Economics.
• Knowledge of SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Experience with TSoft and SBA Etran.
• Excellent PC skills including Excel, Word, Outlook, AFS, and Velocity.

Responsibilities

• Review SBA & USDA guaranteed business loans for proper structure and eligibility requirements.
• Act as a consultant on government guaranteed loan programs to sales, underwriting, and closing teams.
• Maintain an individual pipeline of work with advanced complexity loans.
• Assess eligibility of borrowers, co-borrowers, and guarantors for SBA guarantees.
• Facilitate understanding of SBA and USDA loan programs with internal colleagues.
• Prepare SBA Loan Authorization and ensure compliance with SBA/USDA requirements.
• Review reports and information related to SBA/USDA eligibility requirements.
• Research and resolve complex servicing questions to maintain loan guarantees.
• Advise Financial Recovery Group colleagues on working out and liquidating SBA loans.
• Serve as the main contact for commercial loan servicing colleagues regarding SBA loans.
• Assist in training and mentoring new hires in the SBA ERO job families.
