About The Position

Hilo Truss is looking for an experienced Sawyer to join their team. This position is responsible for cutting components for fabrication of trusses, sets up truss builders and provides them with all necessary materials. This position will be working with a crew building trusses, meeting quality, quantity and safety standards. This position will perform additional duties as required.

Requirements

3-5 years of Truss fabrication or saw experience.
Requires basic math skills.

Responsibilities

Arranges the table to secure the truss.
Organizes the material in the work area for the builders.
Ensures that all setups are correct.
Ensures the correct plates are available in the work area.
Cuts material for the truss builders as necessary.
Provide accurately cut parts and re-cut parts as needed for production.
Maintain organized and clean working area.
Checks setups for accuracy prior to start of building trusses.
Ensures the quality and cut of the lumber and the size of the plates meets the appropriate standards.
Abide by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies and ensure that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
