Position Summary: Operates basic saw types such as pop-up, miter, web saws, etc. to cut planks, timbers, or boards according to work orders by performing the following duties. What You'll Do:

Requirements

• Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Language Skills - Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Responsibilities

• Reviews work order to determine cut(s) to be made.
• Adjusts saw for required cuts.
• Adjusts speed of saw and feed rolls.
• Observes automatic feeding of lumber to saw or pushes end of lumber into feed rolls.
• Stacks cut lumber after processing.
• Advises supervisor of dull saw blades.
• Other duties as assigned
