About The Position

Since 1961, the Wellborn family has owned and operated Wellborn Cabinet, Inc. The goal is to provide kitchen and bath cabinets crafted by dedicated Wellborn employees with the utmost quality and care. Today, over 55 years later, the product line has broadened to include cabinetry and storage solutions to help maximize the total home living space. One of the initial points of contact in preparation for the Customer. This role will employ care and organizational skill to continue to make Wellborn Cabinet, Inc. the most valued provider of permanent home cabinets designed for a lifetime of gracious living.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, mill, or lumber environment with a knowledge of wood species. Rift/ Quartered sawing experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and chainsaw
  • Knowledge of safety procedures while handling saws and other tools
  • Possess manual dexterity and the ability to do repetitious work
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and verbal instruction
  • Ability to read and understand lumber grain processing techniques and perform saw maintenance such as interchanging saws, guides etc.
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace
  • Ability to work in inclement weather
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Sawmill dept. - Sawyer (required to lift up to 100 lbs. throughout shift)
  • High School Diploma, GED, or 1yr of equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated skills in planning, prioritizing and time management.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and timely completion of tasks.
  • Organization and planning

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for understanding finesse sawing procedures needed to perform job according to requirements.
  • Read orders to determine the amount, size and grade of material for high yield, quality and production needs.
  • Set up machines properly to ensure accuracy of cuts are made. Ensures a quality product is produced.
  • Maintain production in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manages an equipment servicing schedule.
  • Meets daily, weekly and team related production goals.
