As the Sawmill Supervisor , you will play a critical role in driving operational success. Reporting to the Superintendent, you will lead a dedicated team to achieve and surpass key performance indicator (KPI) targets in safety, quality, cost control, delivery, and employee engagement. Your leadership will foster a culture of excellence, contributing significantly to the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations. This role is a night‑shift position running Monday through Friday, with the possibility of occasional weekend shifts when needed. We are seeking talented leaders for our Sawmill Supervisor and Planermill Supervisor positions.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience in an industrial environment
  • Working knowledge of web-based computer applications and Microsoft Office
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • safe work habits
  • a working knowledge of OSHA regulations

Nice To Haves

  • prior maintenance experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a sawmill setting

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the highest safety standards, ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, practices, and OSHA regulations.
  • Address unsafe conditions promptly and proactively.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce costs while safely meeting production targets.
  • Coach, train, and support team members to maximize performance.
  • Foster open communication and engage employees for input into work processes and systems.
  • Ensure timely implementation of key corporate and operational initiatives, and assist in equipment troubleshooting.
  • Maintain and monitor production goals
  • Work with other departments to achieve operational goals
