The SAW Technology Introduction Director at Skyworks is a pivotal role that involves leading the engineering development efforts and technology roadmaps for Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) technology. This position is responsible for driving the development of SAW technology into high-volume production and ensuring that products are successfully brought to market, thereby achieving significant commercial success. The director will provide leadership to the SAW engineering team, setting a clear product vision and supporting the entire lifecycle of product development from inception to end-of-life management. In this role, the director will formulate and implement best practices that will be adopted across the SAW engineering organization, fostering an execution and efficiency mindset across all engineering functions related to operationalizing SAW technology development. The position requires comprehensive leadership skills to address a variety of activities, including cross-functional collaboration with all departments within the organization. The director will also be expected to contribute high-level technical insights to customer relationships, ensuring that the engineering team meets the needs of clients effectively. The role includes responsibilities such as hiring, developing, motivating, retaining, and evaluating a high-performing global engineering organization. The director will be tasked with meeting financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing annual budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions as necessary. Collaboration and open debate within the team will be essential for managing projects, solving problems, and discussing challenging issues, all while learning from critical issues as a group. Additionally, the director will implement or improve solutions to minimize disruptions in the New Technology Introduction (NTI) workflow and will be responsible for identifying and driving continuous improvement within the organization and the NTI process. This includes capturing lessons learned from each technology project and maintaining knowledge of technology status to report to executive leadership.
