About The Position

As a Saw Operator at Scot Forge, you will play a crucial role in the production process by operating carbide and band saws to cut and trim materials according to precise specifications. This position is essential in ensuring that the materials meet the required dimensions and tolerances, which are critical for the manufacturing of custom open die and rolled ring forgings. You will be responsible for verifying the dimensions of the material before and throughout the cutting process, adjusting machine stops, feeds, and speeds as necessary to conform to specifications. Additionally, you will determine the appropriate saw blade to use and layout parts prior to cutting, ensuring that all operations are performed safely and efficiently. Your responsibilities will also include loading materials into the machine using an overhead crane, which is vital for handling forgings that can exceed 100,000 lbs. You will need to check the saw equipment for proper operating conditions, monitor blade performance, and replace saw blades as necessary. It is important to maintain accurate production records and complete necessary inspection and quality reports using measurement equipment such as tape measures. You will actively participate in the safety program to ensure a safe working environment and may be required to learn additional skills to flex to other departments as needed. Scot Forge is a 100% employee-owned company that values its employees and offers a range of benefits, including a profit-sharing bonus plan and an employee stock ownership plan. This position is full-time, with a 12-hour shift from 4 pm to 3 am, and includes a 10% shift premium. If you are results-driven and enjoy working with your hands in a manufacturing environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
