About The Position

The Saw Operator is responsible for operating a variety of saws to cut pallets to specification while operating with incredible consistency and detail, ensuring pallets meet the quality standards. This role will perform an array of assembly line tasks from sorting and stacking cut materials in the appropriate staging areas to inspecting equipment functionality.

Requirements

Previous experience in pallet repair, woodworking, or construction preferred.
Knowledge of operating a variety of saws, including uses and maintenance preferred.
Ability to work with high-powered saws in a fast-paced assembly line environment, meeting or exceeding daily production goals and deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects and imperfections in pallets.
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Any combination of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

Operate a specific or multiple types of saws to cut or trim wood to specified dimensions,
Perform cuts with precision by adjusting the cutting method, saw blades, as well as the speed and tension needed to provide consistent quality of all pallets.
Inspect and measure pallet components to verify the accuracy of the cuts.
Deliver on or exceed the daily production requirements.
Maintain equipment integrity by performing general upkeep to ensure proper operation.
Identify and understand types and grades of pallets.
Operate and maintain multiple forms of hand and power tools, saws, and equipment.
Maintain a clean workspace, reducing accidents, and ensuring compliance.
Escalate technical and process issues to leadership.
Foster exceptional and collaborative partnerships with facility staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.
