About The Position

American Bin and Conveyor is looking for a Saw Operator at our Burlington, Wisconsin manufacturing facility. The Saw Operator reports to the Production Manager and is responsible for cutting steel per cut lists and drawing specifications and staging cut material for fabrication. Must be forklift certified or able to obtain certification through our program. Must possess the ability to operate overhead crane and read a ruler to the 16th of an inch. Must be able to perform tasks accurately and in a timely manner while maintaining all Company safety standards.

Requirements

• Previous experience operating an industrial saw and cutting steel.
• Current forklift certification or ability to obtain.
• Previous experience operating an overhead crane and job hoist (will train).
• Previous experience operating pneumatic and electric grinders and basic hand tools
• Ability to read a ruler/tape measure to the 1/16th of an inch, and to add, subtract and simplify fractions.
• Able to understand basic blueprints.
• High degree of attention required to prevent injury to self and others.
• Agree to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the company.
• Successfully pass pre-employment background check, drug screen, and physical.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret written work instructions.
• Operate vertical/horizontal band saws.
• Use saw to cut test specimens according to prescribed spec or work order.
• Interpret basic blueprints and drawings.
• Accurately use basic measuring devices, including tape measure, caliper, and micrometer.
• Operate surface grinding equipment.
• Effectively prioritize workload and use of available resources within time constraints.
• Stage cut material for fabrication.
• Initiate and maintain good housekeeping practices in all work areas.
• Complies with all company safety policies and procedures and practices safe work habits.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
