Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience operating automated cutting or CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to accurately read and interpret measuring scales, blueprints, and engineering schematics.

  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers).
  • Strong and unwavering safety awareness with strict adherence to all established safety protocols (LOTO, PPE, etc.).
  • Ability to safely lift, push, and pull materials up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
  • Prior certified experience driving a forklift and/or operating an overhead crane.

Responsibilities

  • Precision Cutting: Set up, program (as needed), and operate various automated/horizontal band saws to accurately cut raw material stock to specified lengths and angles.
  • Technical Interpretation: Thoroughly read and interpret complex work orders, blueprints, and engineering drawings to determine correct dimensions, material types, and optimal cutting methods.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct first-piece inspections and in-process checks using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, scales) to verify dimensional accuracy and cut quality against strict tolerances.
  • Material Handling & Safety: Safely and efficiently move, load, and stage incoming and outgoing materials using powered industrial equipment, including overhead cranes, forklifts, and pallet jacks.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine operator-level maintenance and ensure the workspace and machinery are clean, organized, and running optimally to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Actively assist the production shop team in other manufacturing areas when needed, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to overall production goals.
