Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience operating automated cutting or CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment.
Proven ability to accurately read and interpret measuring scales, blueprints, and engineering schematics.

Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers).
Strong and unwavering safety awareness with strict adherence to all established safety protocols (LOTO, PPE, etc.).
Ability to safely lift, push, and pull materials up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
Prior certified experience driving a forklift and/or operating an overhead crane.

Responsibilities

Precision Cutting: Set up, program (as needed), and operate various automated/horizontal band saws to accurately cut raw material stock to specified lengths and angles.
Technical Interpretation: Thoroughly read and interpret complex work orders, blueprints, and engineering drawings to determine correct dimensions, material types, and optimal cutting methods.
Quality Assurance: Conduct first-piece inspections and in-process checks using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, scales) to verify dimensional accuracy and cut quality against strict tolerances.
Material Handling & Safety: Safely and efficiently move, load, and stage incoming and outgoing materials using powered industrial equipment, including overhead cranes, forklifts, and pallet jacks.
Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine operator-level maintenance and ensure the workspace and machinery are clean, organized, and running optimally to maintain a safe work environment.
Team Collaboration: Actively assist the production shop team in other manufacturing areas when needed, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to overall production goals.
