About The Position

Consider joining the Pennex family as a Saw Operator - Night Shift at our Wellsville, PA location. The Saw Operator operates one or more single or multiple blade circular saws to cut aluminum and aluminum products to specified lengths by performing the following duties.
This position works a 12-hour night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on rotating days and weekends.

Requirements

• High School diploma or the equivalent experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
• Ability to use measuring devices such as tape measures or rulers.
• Ability to apply understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available.
• Regular attendance required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with machine operation in a manufacturing environment is preferred but is not required.

Responsibilities

• Adjusts and secures ends and backstops on saw table according to specified length of stock.
• Starts saw and places material to be cut on conveyor, feeds stock into saws, or positions pieces against end stop and under saw, synchronizing action with automatically descending blade, or pushes material on table and cuts aluminum.
• Pulls lever to swing saw through material, or pushes movable table past saw, or depresses treadle to raise saw through slot in machine table, or tilts table for angle cut and presses pedal to move saw through piece to cut stock.
• Replaces dull or damaged saw blades and lubricates machine.
• Examines material prior to cutting or determines what cuts will remove defects and produce maximum footage
• Verifies dimensions of stock cut and accuracy of cuts.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area including general housekeeping of the work area upon completion of a repair. Assists with general housekeeping of the Cutback area.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
