About The Position

The Machine Operator fabricates parts by positioning or aligning workpieces against stops and guides or with dies; operating equipment; observing operations; detecting malfunctions; inspecting parts; adjusting controls; and replacing dies. This role is an important role in the construction of our portal saw mills and industrial equipment.

Requirements

  • General math knowledge -- Required
  • High School Diploma | High School Education or Equivalent -- Required

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years | Fabrication experience -- Preferred
  • Construction/Framing experience -- Preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude -- Preferred
  • Tow Motor / Forklift -- Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate any assigned machine in manufacturing area.
  • Read blueprint and fabricate part per print specifications.
  • Inspect own production frequently using proper gauges or measuring instrument.
  • Clean work area daily.
  • Train other employees.
  • Meet production goals.
  • Count parts accurately.
  • Lift 50 lbs. to waist.
  • Ability to retain learned knowledge.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times.
  • Stand 8 to 10 hours each day.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Following all rules, policies, and procedures established by Wood-Mizer, including codes of conduct, safety regulations, and other guidelines.
