The position involves operating a Crosscut Saw, where the individual will review work orders, set up the saw according to specifications, and cut material accordingly. It is essential to ensure that the product cut meets the work order specifications. The operator will also be responsible for arranging and transferring cut material from the saw table onto stacker racks independently. Additionally, the role includes operating the stacker to remove the rack and place it onto the age oven line. A visual inspection of the material for defects and cut length checks is required, with typical product lengths ranging from 16 to 24 feet, but could vary from 74 inches to 40 feet. The operator will also need to operate the tail stretcher when support is needed and communicate clearly with others, including the lead, forklift driver, maintenance, and quality teams. Maintaining a clean workspace and performing other assigned duties are also part of the job.
