About The Position

As a Sawmill Operations Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day activities of a sawmill facility. This position requires a deep understanding of lumber processing, machinery, and safety protocols. The Sawmill Operations Superintendent is responsible for ensuring efficient production, quality control, and adherence to safety regulations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a leadership role within a sawmill or similar manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of sawmill operations, equipment, and lumber processing.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in an industrial setting.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of sawmill operators, technicians, and support staff.
• Ensure maintenance coordination between operations.
• Manage and monitor the scanning and optimization system in the sawmill.
• Work closely with the filing department to ensure machine center sharpness and saw changes occur efficiently.
• Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure the production of high-quality lumber products.
• Collaborate with quality control personnel to address and rectify any deviations from established standards.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
• Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for all sawmill employees.
• Report regularly on production metrics, safety performance, and other relevant KPIs.
• Coordinate with maintenance staff to address breakdowns promptly and efficiently.
• Other duties as assigned.
