About The Position

The Saute position at la Madeleine is a part-time role focused on preparing authentic French cuisine while adhering to high standards of food quality and safety. The primary responsibility is to ensure that all food items are cooked, garnished, and served according to specifications, maintaining compliance with food safety standards to guarantee guest satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Entry-level position with no prior experience required.
  • Ability to stand, work, and move during the entire shift with frequent bending and stooping.
  • Capability to lift and carry sacks and cases of up to 30 lbs multiple times per shift.
  • Ability to acknowledge and respond to hazards such as broken glass, burns, slipping, and tripping.
  • Familiarity with various kitchen equipment including stoves, ovens, and brewing machines.
  • Ability to read menu items and understand ticket orders.
  • Good communication skills to interact with managers, associates, and guests in a loud environment.
  • Pass recipe and food quality tests as required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare authentic French food according to recipes and specifications.
  • Ensure all food is served at the correct temperatures (hot food hot, cold food cold).
  • Maintain 100% compliance with food safety standards.
  • Cook, prepare, and garnish all items within standard time frames.
  • Communicate food preparation needs to other line stations promptly.
  • Stay updated on recipe changes and utilize the most current recipes.
  • Clean and sanitize workstation, utensils, and equipment throughout the shift.
  • Follow proper food rotation procedures (First In First Out).
  • Communicate product shortages and issues with line positions and management.
  • Complete assigned prep work as per the Prep List.
  • Stock station according to par levels listed on the prep list.
  • Set up station with proper utensils and equipment as per guidelines.
  • Complete cleaning duties as assigned by management.
  • Assist with organizing storage and walk-ins according to layout schematic.
