About The Position

From Hooper Hospitality Concepts, Night Rooster in the Dallas Design District is an elevated Chinese restaurant and lounge. Focusing on Classic Chinese cuisine, the menu is created by Culinary Director Shirley Chung and will focus on creating an upscale traditional Chinese dining experience using Texas sourced ingredients. Night Rooster will feature a cocktail program with a heavy emphasis on Asian whiskeys, International Wines, and Sake with an abundance of house made mixers and infusions. The interior is modern-Asian inspired, with a dark and moody 'Orient Express' atmosphere, with the exteriors contrasted with wood and Iron Ore brick. Position Summary Our wok cooks are responsible for the prepping of ingredients and sauté station along with preparation of all wok-cooked items.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 1-year of wok-cooking experience.
  • Must be able to wok-cook and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Candidates must be able to bend and lift to 50 lbs.
  • Must be a team player and have a positive attitude.
  • Candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule and be able to work weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity and knowledge of Asian cuisine and ingredients preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the quality of food items.
  • Cook and plate all wok-cooked items according to recipe specifications and standards.
  • Weigh and measure ingredients accurately.
  • Prep & restock station when necessary.
  • Follow all Health Department food and sanitation guidelines.
  • Must have a Food Handler Safety Card.
  • Handle and store food products correctly (FIFO).
  • Must be able to assist with cleaning and sanitation projects.
  • All other duties as assigned.
